Use a CDN (Content Delivery Network)

A Content Delivery Network is a network of servers around the world that can be used to offer resources to users without having to pull them from the source server which is limited to one location.

It is especially usefull for sites that serve users around the world, but even sites that only target a specific country will always have users that travel and want to access the site.

If you want to use a CDN with Joomla, you can either use an extension or sign up with a service that helps you to set it up. Some hosts even offer it from their control panel, like Siteground.
